Sunset Vows and Laughing Leis: A Malibu Beach Elopement
By your friendly neighborhood quirky and colorful LGBTQ+ wedding photographer in Malibu
A Sweet and Sandy Elopement in Malibu
When two grooms say “I do” on the beach at sunset with their best people cheering and leis flying—it’s a yes from me. As a Los Angeles wedding photographer who loves love, color, and a little chaos, this Malibu elopement was sunshine for the soul.
Right next to Mastro’s Ocean Club (where they headed after for a fab dinner), we found the perfect little stretch of sand for this two groom wedding. Cue the crashing waves, golden hour magic, and a whole lot of joy.
Leis, Laughter & A Slightly Clumsy Photographer
This ceremony had everything: heartfelt vows, giant smiles, and a very enthusiastic guest crew in fresh orchid leis. And me? I nearly face-planted into the wedding party after tripping on a rock. The grooms just laughed. True icons.
Every moment was pure—funny, moving, and beautifully unfiltered. As a candid wedding photography lover, I was in heaven.
Beach Walks, Twirls & Real Joy
After the “I dos,” we played. Twirls in the sand. A walk into the waves. Lei-laced hugs. Sunset laughs. Every photo was full of movement and ease—my kind of magic as a quirky wedding photographer.
Their people brought the vibe too: high fives, sunglasses, and one of the most joyful, down-to-earth energy bubbles I’ve ever stepped into.
Dreamy Suits & Porsche Cool
Our grooms brought the style: one in ocean blue, the other in leafy green. Paired with brown loafers and tropical flower leis, their looks were fresh, personal, and completely adorable.
And yes, there was a red Porsche. Because sometimes you need to wrap your wedding day by looking like movie stars in love. Obviously.
Just the Good Stuff
This elopement was simple in the best way. Just love, laughter, and the ocean breeze. No ballroom needed.
If you’re planning something small, sweet, and true to you—and need an LGBTQ+ wedding photographer who will cheer you on (and maybe fall over from excitement), hi. I’m right here.
Your love is joy. Let’s make art with joy.
