Sweet and Unconventional Wedding at Valentine in Downtown LA

This unconventional Los Angeles wedding at Valentine in Downtown LA was delightfully eccentric! I + A created a perfectly intimate DIY wedding by really focusing on their personalities and their adorable dynamic as a couple.

When I first walked into this DTLA wedding venue, I was in love. I knew immediately it would be perfect backdrop for the colorful wedding photography I love so much. Tucked away like a hidden gem, Valentine is a greenhouse-like haven in the heart of the city. Walking in, you’d never guess such a breath of fresh air exists amid the urban hustle.

Halloween Wedding: Not a Scare in the World

The couple nodded to the spooky season with signature cocktails, which they called Potions for a little Halloween flair! Pumpkins and autumnal touches adorned the venue, creating a warm and whimsical atmosphere. Trang from Weddings By Trang ensured everything ran smoothly and kept the energy lively throughout the day! She also made sure that traditional Filipino dessert table didn’t get absolutely excitedly demolished.

Artistic Wedding Portraits

I loved the quirky wedding photos we took that day!!! The bride rescues and works in conservation of California Condors for a living, so we had to take a photo by this pelican statue. I mean… birds, ya know? Should I use AI to make this a condor!??? For now, it was a fun and sweet nod to her passion and career.

Nontraditional LA Wedding Vibes

While this unique wedding was decidedly offbeat, the couple made sure to include some Filipino wedding traditions, such as the money dance!! The vibe was perfectly blended; the couple’s personalities, the season’s charm, the cultural traditions, and a hilarious dance floor. I am usually going to rally behind a good DJ, but the bride and groom’s playlist HIT— these are some of my favorite dancing photos of all time!
